Abstract

Major countries have begun to seek to maintain their position and the reasons for their own strength and work. To use its relations to achieve its interests through various tools, and this is the new rule for relations between countries, and perhaps the best example of this is the relations of the Russian Federation with NATO , influence on Middle East region, this study aims to analyze the nature of the international competition that the Middle East region is witnessing between the major international powers, as well as analyzing the effects resulting from this competition on Egyptian national security in its various fields, using a number of approaches such as the descriptive analytical and the interest approach , within the framework of realism theory.
The study resulted in, perhaps the most prominent of which is that the international competition between Russia and the alliance threatens Egypt’s pioneering role in the region, as Russia works to restore its position in the region. This competition also threatens the principle of balance for Egyptian foreign policy, in addition to The arms race is one of the most prominent features of the Russian-Atlantic rivalry in the Middle East.
