Abstract

Although the national security is always perceived from only political and military perspective, the comprehensive vision of this concept sheds the light on the importance of social and economic aspects as main components through which the nation’s national security is shaped. In general, the literature indicates that, the economic growth is one of the most critical factors in achieving the social stability, creating job opportunities, providing the citizens with the basic services, and improving the standard of living that prevent the social disturbances and lead to direct positive reflections on the national security.
The tourism role is prominent in providing the revenues in foreign currency, developing the infrastructure and investing in the superstructure, and accordingly creating job opportunities. Tourism, with its mutual relationships with several economic sectors, is characterized by the ability to support the supply chains, eliminating the poverty, upgrading the education and training, empowering the women economically, providing the youth and disabled ones with jobs, along with the tourism capability to preserve the natural resources, motivate the peace and cultural interaction, and achieve different partnerships.
